Although the 2024 Dodge Hornet bears the name of a well-known vehicle from the past, it’s coming in an all-new format: an SUV offering performance and fuel economy, thanks to new technologies. Stylish and refined, Dodge’s new Hornet is available in a plug-in hybrid version for the 2024 model year. This new addition maximizes power while providing improved energy efficiency.
Borrowing the platform of the Alfa Romeo Tonale, the new 2024 Dodge Hornet benefits from the former’s dynamic drivability. The traditional gasoline-powered GT version comes standard with a 268-horsepower four-cylinder twin-turbo engine.
However, you’ll avail of an additional 20 hp and a 530 km electric range when you opt for the all-new version of the Dodge Hornet, rolled out specifically for the 2024 model year. A small 15.5 kWh battery enables it to store energy and release it upon start-up. Regenerative braking then recovers that energy.
The great news is that this configuration qualifies the purchase of this vehicle for financial aid from the government. A special bonus for those who love power: a feature called PowerShot provides a little boost of 25 horsepower for a few seconds. And naturally, four-wheel drive comes standard.
With its stylish silhouette, agile handling and exceptional traction, the 2024 Dodge Hornet already has plenty going for it. But it gets even better once you climb aboard. Depending on the version you select, you could enjoy such luxuries as well-padded leather-upholstered seats. All versions, nonetheless, offer a refined interior that draws inspiration from that of the Dodge Challenger.
In addition to a customizable 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, in the center of the dashboard sits a large 10.5-inch touchscreen that displays the Uconnect 5 system. This infotainment system can even house the available 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Safety is another priority aboard the 2024 Dodge Hornet. The SUV includes such driver assistance features as traffic sign recognition and the ParkSense rear park-assist system.
